December Hues – a Sorrento sunset

An image taken just after the sun had dropped below the horizon.
I had an ND8 and polarizing filter stacked on the front of the lens to to extend the shutter time and blur the waves giving a soft appearance to the water.

  1. Hi Mr Jim Worrall. Thank you for your kind words on my Welcome page. I enjoy your landscape pictures and your photography.

I enjoy taking pictures with a pocket digital camera which I carry in my bag wherever I go.

However I’d like to add some personal pictures on my blog which I found this elude me. The picture placed on the blog doesn’t fit in the blog page — as a matter of fact, that overflows! This is most exasperating. Wonder if you could guide me on this. How do I reduce the size of the picture? Thank you.

    • Hi Gleechoo,

I’m assuming you are using a version of Microsoft Windows here.
There are several free image editing programs available to download which will allow you to resize your images and also make other corrections.

Here is one with a nice simple interface for you to try –
      Picasa 3 at – http://picasa.google.com

The following link is a tutorial showing how to use Picasa to resize images for web use –
      http://www.pinelake-marketing.com/picasa-tutorial/picasa-tutorial-resize-image.html

If you resize your images to about about 500 pixels wide then they should fit your wordpress blog nicely.
      Hopefully this helps.

      Cheers, Jim.
